STEELMART

Retail branding with a smile

Our recent branding project for Steelmart focused on creating a logo and identity that reflects a more approachable, customer-friendly retail experience for builders, home renovators, and the wider Sunshine Coast community.

At the centre of the identity is a bending steel bar that forms a subtle smile beneath the double “e” in Steelmart, reinforcing the brand’s focus on friendliness and accessibility.

The logotype itself is fully custom designed, with each letter carefully crafted to balance with the underscore smile device. This creates a unique, cohesive mark that feels simple at first glance, but reveals considered detail on closer inspection.

Paired with a bold, confident colour palette, the brand strikes a balance between strength and approachability, a business that knows its trade but isn’t afraid to stand out.

The refresh gave the client confidence to roll the identity out across multiple locations, including storefronts and truck livery, creating a consistent and recognisable presence in the real world.

A great example of how thoughtful design, down to the smallest detail, can shift perception and build pride from the inside out.

"Demographic Design transformed our brand and elevated it to a level we hadn’t imagined. From our logo and brand guidelines to our product catalogue, Emery didn’t just deliver, he exceeded expectations.

His attention to detail, clear communication, and genuine passion made the entire process seamless and genuinely inspiring. Emery doesn’t just design, he captures the essence of a business and brings it to life. Highly recommended."
